We spent a couple nights in Lake George, NY. Found a couple outlet stores, and also had a look at Lake George.

Lake George

Lake George is at the south eastern edge of the Adirondack Mountains. The hills are really starting to show their fall colors. We considered taking a lake cruise, but it was only on the upper 50s while we were there, and that was just a little too cold for us.

We also visited Ice Cream Mecca. Waterbury, Vermont is home to the Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory.

Ben & Jerrys factory

This is actually one of three places where Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream is made. They make 190,000 pints per day in this location alone. We took the tour and got to see the production line making Butter Pecan. At the end of the tour, there's a tasting room where we got to taste the flavors White Russian and Chunky Monkey.

After the tour we paid homage by having a full sized scoop.

Mary at Ben & Jerrys

We also have timed our visit to Vermont perfectly to see the fall colors. You can kind of tell that the hill behind Mary in the photo above isn't really green. It wasn't. Although we don't have any pictures to do it justice, the colors in were stunning. We drove through the Killington ski area and saw beautiful hills covered with yellow, red, and orange trees.
