Today was the big day. Mary received her Bachelor of Science in Natural Health with a major in Nutrition from Bastyr University. Here she is getting her diploma from the University President:
It's been a long three years for her to get to today with many long hours reading, working on papers, preparing for presentations, volunteering, and more. She’s had classes in everything from micro-biology, to anatomy & physiology all the way to a class about giving a cooking class. Along the way we’ve even both learned to like kale (it’s very good for you – Mary could even tell you why!).
The guest speaker at the ceremony was Dr. Hunter “Patch” Adams. He gave a great presentation about his humanitarian work and the basic principles on which he operates his Gesundheit Institute. Namely, people should spend less time consumed by negativity and more time loving each other. He was also granted an honorary Naturopathic Doctor degree.
