Travel Diary		September 8, 2002 Coeur d'Alene, ID < Previous     Next > Our last day in Coeur d'Alene was great. We spent the morning washing both the Jeep and the coach. And then the afternoon on a lake cruise of Lake Coeur d'Alene. The lake is quite large – 25 miles from north to south, and at its widest point, about 10 miles wide. It has over 100 miles of shore line. The cruise was nice and we got a chance to see some interesting waterfront homes. There is one bay where there are no roads to the houses. All access for construction and now for the residents is by boat. They even have mail delivered by boat! The Coeur d'Alene Resort has an amazing golf course on the shore of the lake. Golfers are shuttled by boat from the resort to the course. The signature hole of the golf course involved a floating island green. Golfers tee off from shore, then they are shuttled by boat to the green. This picture shows the ferry between the shore and the green. After Coeur d'Alene, we drove through the mountains into Montana. We stopped in Garrison, MT at a cute RV Park that had big grassy sites.
