Travel Diary		November 12, 2002 Myrtle Beach, SC < Previous     Next > Myrtle Beach claims to be the Golf Capital of the World. With over 100 golf courses, and some huge golf mega-stores, we suspect that claim has some merit. So far, however, we haven't had a chance to break out our golf clubs as a result of the storms that have been rolling through the area. This is the same round of storms that nailed the Southeast with tornadoes over the weekend, and we were under a tornado watch ourselves for part of Monday. After the storms passed by, we felt what we thought was a peculiar gust of wind hit the RV. We both looked at each other, but didn't say anything. The next day we learned that there was a 4.2 earthquake centered about 30 miles from where we're parked. Just like home... Here are a few pictures of the interesting and slightly scary clouds we've seen over the past couple of days. In the rain we've been having a good time exploring the area's various indoor attractions. There are great seafood and BBQ restaurants, comfortable theaters, and we went to the Butterfly House.
